had some friends with the saffire LE and the 40 and it was always crashing, clicking or any other kind of trouble. The pre amps of the saffire are full of sh!t. So in that matter i created some bad feelings about focusrite.... No problem if others felt in love with it. I just don't recommend it, if ...

Go for RME, Echo or Apogee. Never ever ever ever ever go for Focusrite. I read on the net the echo 8pre and 12 use the same components as the RME 400/800. Though the RME have a much better software included. The Apogee stuff is already really good, only i don't like wires... It's get messy quite eas...

It's basically the same sort of bass sound.
Of course you have to edit it to taste and mix

maybe you should consider renoise.
I suck with Ableton if i try to use it as a production tool.
As a live application it's massive !
