its not a preset on a dx7 as I have one right in front of me, I know its possible with this synth though...just wondering how. I have been able to come close, but I'd like to know the actual synthesis behind it.532nm wrote:sounds like a preset on a DX7 or other digital synth, they're pretty common on the older FM synths.

You are close, but what you would actually do is route the LFO->pitch modulation to the joystick and then you can actually control the vibrato as you play the instrument.
In order to get that stab sound, you want an analogue poly synth. The Minneapolis guys were partial to Oberheim synths at that time.
