When I said overkill I was talking price wise, if you're just starting out, spending over 2k on a synth I think is overkill

I think a voyager, while an amazing synth, if you know nothing about synthesis would be overkill, I'd get a 101 to learn on the lay out is basic and it's a joy to use. And possibly a microkorg xl for polyphonic stuff, as it's got a mic (possibly the most important piece of outboard imo) and a vocode...

I didn't, I just messed about with the machine till it did what I wanted, I've lost my manual I think, ive managed to get the kick to fit nicely now so it's all good, cheers for the help tho man, I'll work it out I'm sure Blitz, I dunno mate, I'll have a look at the file when I'm next in the studio ...

You know what, even in the non midi note mode the spectrum keeps reading E, pretty much no matter where I pitch it, it's very hard to move it from E without being too extreme, weird

Awesome stevio, just moved the midi note an it changed the pitch, exactly what I was after, now my problem is that when I play midi c3 the kicks pitch is e, a few semitones out, I can work round that tho, nice mate cheers

So I'm trying to tune a kick to my track, I can hear what the tune pot does, though it makes next to no difference to the pitch, so I logically move to the pitch pot and while I can hear a change in pitch when I'm turning it it makes no difference after, I ran it thru a spectrum analyser and it conf...
