Re: What's happened here?
Electronic dance music isn't dead, maybe minimal is but then again it was never about that. Dont get me wrong theres great stuff labeled minimaltechno but it's just a name for what alot of people were doing and exploring for a while then it moves on. Now theres been a boom in slowhouse soulfull stuf...

Re: Chords & Harmony
Wow that Prince things sounds super cool. Need to start using better processes to come up with stuff. Easy to just move on from one part of musicmaking to another cause you get bored and wan't to know what the next step sounds like. The idea of using licks is really cool. Re: attract mode - supa duty tuff stuff
As has been said before me there is issues with the mix here. Try listening to your tracks on as many speakers, headphones as u can and when you do listen to a track that you like and know on the same system and make a note of whats lacking in your mix. Then go back with you'r notes and try fixing it.

Re: Chords & Harmony
I also start in almost any end, sometimes with a beat, sometimes from playing on the keyboard and other times from taking a walk or beeing in school and and idea forms and when i get home I try to make it in to a track. I think the most important thing I learnt is that none of the stuff you put in s...

Re: FM Synthesis
Wow thanks! I have that "Complete DX7 manual" as a PDF as well so i guess theres some tips in there. I've also been starting small makin simple sounds and so on. Tried to make a hihat, with a carrier and two modulators that sounded ok, but it gets a ton of movement in a lower frequency the...
