Dont know if this helps, but some shareware VSTs emit noise randomly to remind you of not having registered. Maybe you got one of those in your project?

For the reverb glitch i dont know, never experienced that...

One thing which is done a lot in minimal to surprise the audience is extending breaks 4 bars beyond the conventional measure. Like bringing back the bass after 32 or 64 bars, but the kick after 36 or 68.

All about altering instruments in different frequency ranges imo. Change chords, change sounds, drop instruments in and out, etc... Also works a treat on drum sounds and percussions, most prominent example is leaving out the kick drum in the main break.

ive heard alot of good things about the waldorf pulse and dsi mopho and these synths used costs something like a vst. +1000000 My advice for everybody working ITB who is not satisfied with his sound, get a cheap analog synth with an analog filter (important), connect the wires and play some notes 8...

ill say it simply.... put your kick anywhere between -6 and -9 db, then build up from there. +1 This is commonly referred to as gain structuring.
