I'm pretty glad I got out of my 'trance phase' (or would that be faze?). I actually got into writing eletronic music to make that crap.
Though I still enjoy some from time to time, in small, controlled doses.

Did you put it before the audio or something? :? phasers add a phasing, sweeping type sound in addition to what you're hearing, flangers do that TO the sound you're hearing.
