id be careful about buying an mpc, especially the older ones, looking at op's original post...

one needs to be aware of the limitations of hardware before getting into that..

be careful with modern hacks as they seem to do weird things to ur old units... from what ive read, mainly from rohan of vailixi.., pcs tend to leave a ''mark'' on drives and partitions.. they behaves particularly bad with the older akai and can wreck them seriously when routed to them thru scsi ada...
