Bio:
Mihalis Safras, producer and DJ from Athens – Greece, started his career in 1997 by having the residency at Berlin club, one of the best clubs of the region. He started his career mixing drum & bass in the mid 90s but he had changed his style to techouse and techno by the end of the decade.
In 2000 Mihalis began to experiment with the harder side of dance scene, introducing to the Greek audience the less known techno sound of Britain, Europe and Detroit, mixed with tribal and percussive rhythms.
His first appearance as a techno dj was at SolaLunaFestival which had played alongside the best techno djs of the world like R.Hawtin, A.Beyer, C.Liebing, C.Varela, M.Bailey and more. The residency in the athenian dance scene in major clubs (Venue,Danza, Fuse, Mad) had as a result to win the No1 hotspot in the biggest club of Greece ever(Plusmatic,Venue) which Mihalis Safras spinned with almost all famous djs like Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke, Mthew Dear, Chris Liebing, Felix Da Housecat, John Aquaviva, Umek, Marco Nastic, Justin Robertson, Matthew Dekay, Lexicon Avenue and many more..Also.Mihalis Safras has many appearances in almost all the major clubs outside Athens as Cavo Paradiso(Myconos),Venue. Focusing in his studio work, he produces tracks developing a sound combining the hard and funky edges of the underground with the groovy and intelligent beats of east minimal techno. Nowadays Mihalis is focusing more to the production part of minimal techouse sounds releasing tunes under Mikrowave,Enemy,Claque Musique,Shadow Fax and more.
