Seriously: keep the flutes but pick the right notes to keep the spooky atmosphere. I think the flute adds more atmosphere than the ghost sound, which gets on my nerves. That sounds like you sampled Scooby Doo.

Whichwould, in fact, pretty cool... 'Yoooiks!'
