Freeware synth vst like synth1

Post by boudo »

Wich free VST-synths do you use?
I love synth1 and it's about the only vst i use right now but i'd like some change, because i tend to get bored when dealing with the same interface everytime.

Suggestions?

I've always liked Antii's Augur. I think he stopped developing it. Works fine though. Haven't had any problems with it.

You can download it here and find some banks for it here and here (also a view of the GUI there, click the thumbnail).

Another I use is xhip. Sounds great but has a quirky gui. A new one is on its way. It's in development and currently beta, although very stable.

Both synths sound great.

There's tons of good freeware out there. You should check out the KVR database for more to choose from. http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php

I'm using them sometimes, too. Very nice Vst's.

PS: Check out the TAL-delay!

TAL develop some nice VSTs. I don't use the instruments much, but I really like the vocoder. He actually just released a new EQ plugin.

Another one I forgot that I really like is Orca. Very easy to use and sounds great plus its gui is something else. He he.

really nice comb filter module. basically a tuned delay... which makes really luscious harmonic sounds... plucks and twangs and all manner of things.
