After the huge success of the last edition, JWT! is taking a musical twist by inviting yet another versatile artist from the city of Rotterdam. Following to last months guest appearance by Cupari records “head honcho” Cupatec, this edition will be held in honour of the one and only Biological.
Angelo Faassen a.k.a Biological is active in the dance industry since 1990. Being brought up with the sounds of the nineties and being inspired by music from Silver Bullet, Jedi Knights, Pork recordings and the Prodigy. Angelo developed his own sound that is based on a musically integrated house-like, jazzy flow which brings more than a kick drum and a hi hat alone.
His musical taste flows from breakbeat to deep warm house, occasionally with some techno flavour. The warm pads in his music give a flowing feeling, his touchy melodies and intelligent rhythmic patterns are turning listening into a different way of dancing and enjoying.
His first production was published under the name Misty Movement. This was the time when he began to feed his interest and started to fine-tune his abilities. After his first couple of releases he began working with the Music Man label. Soon after he released a couple of EP's on Music man. Not long after that he released two more EP's on his own label which is called "Sessions". In 1996 he released his first record under the name Biological, on the respected EC label (which was founded by Michel de Heij).
The past couple of years, he played his live set at events like Movement Festival Detroit, Sonar Festival Barcelona, the MS Stubnitz, On at Off_Corso and the Less=More stage at the FFWD Dance parade Rotterdam.
Biological produced the forthcoming release on Sound Architecture’s sub label “Music People”. He will actually be the first artist featured on JWT! who will perform a live set. Alongside Biological, residents Steven P and Khalil will share their love for deep electronic music with the ever growing JWT! fan base.
