still kinda curious... mille plateaux was definitely one of the most innovating labels out there in electronic music... it'd be great to have such a label again... not sure if it would sell in this crappy market though...

this is a very long, messy and difficult story that no one wants to talk about.

trust me on this...
I've read the letter on their webpage and come to my own conclusions. it's obvious they entered into business (or let individuals take over certain aspects of the business) that ended badly.

glad to see them looking toward the future and releasing more fresh experimental electronic music

)and new clicks and cuts comp! ;))

MP was tied very closely to EFA distribution and had a very prolific release schedule of vinyl/cd with expensive artwork. At the time, EFA was one of the biggest if not the biggest distributor of electronic music in Europe.

When EFA went under, MP was owed a great deal of money and MP didn't have a lot of liquid assets because it's money was tied up in product. MP and the related labels went under shortly afterward.

As far as what happened behind the scenes after that, I have no clue.

clear that sh!t out : push new music forward :!:

sooo nice to see this label hiccup.. one of the selected few on a larger scale that understood : art before music.

best wishes...
