Separate set of monitors for both producing/djing?

Post by N - Jay »

He guys,

I'm not asking which brand bla bla. I'm just curious if you guys use separate monitor sets for producing and djing?

I mean, I'm gonna buy an entry-level set like Yamaha HS-80. Which has a "flat" sound. Is this set still worth it for djing? Or should I get an extra pair of Behringer Thruths for example?

Or are there sets which can be used for both?

Let me know.

im sure the HS80 are ok in the mids and highs.

maybe the dont have enough boom if you want really have fun while DJing ..

but i would use it for both and if you need more boom buy the Subwoofer.

good monitors with a subwoofer are a much better option than two seperate pair of monitors.

only because it would be difficult to have the same set of monitors set up for both production and djing. but otherwise it should be fine. you are over thinking it. if you want to get super loud like def loud... get some pa speakers.
