One thing I notice when I make beats at night is they always come out kinda sleepy... dreamy, relaxing. Not that it's a bad thing, but they're not exactly dancey, clubby sounds.

Be careful, you can stain the EMX if you do too much late night jacking in bed.

I make most sounds in bed. It invites me to lay back and really listen to what I'm doing every once in a while.

Something I find usefull these days is when i go to bed, I play my ipod to some of my favorite songs. I hit play, and try to imagine my empty logic template. As the song plays, i imagine it being recorded in Logic, I imagine what synth/effect I have that could reproduce the sounds being used in that particular song. Kinda abstract I know, but it actually really helps me to break free from getting locked in a 4 bar loop!!

that's what I love about grooveboxes. If there is electrical connection and you have some good headphones, you can make music everywhere.

It's great to change the room from time to time. Even if it's only the sofa in the living room, there is a different feeling. I leave the studio room, where I might have build up preassure and blockade.

I'm going to write some music in the garden this summer :-)
