BD88 Bass Drum module, anyone with experience from this?

Post by Ingemar »

http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~concu ... r/bd88.htm

does anyone have any experience from this module (and the company building them)?

59£ for an analogue 808 bassdrum seems a bit too good to be true, but I was thinking that it might be an alternative to getting the slightly pricier mBase

Don't know the company and can't vouch for what it sounds like, but the price seems about right to me to be honest. It's only one instrument out of the whole 808 so any more and it'd take the piss a bit.

Analog Solutions is legit. I have a few things from them.

You know you'll need a eurorack busboard (preferably in a case) to run this right?

ah ok, thanks, i didnt have a clue that modular systems used racks for other purposes than simply mounting stuff up for easy use

i could have sold you a BD88 last week but its gone now.

so yes i have experience of it, but i wasnt blown away.
sure it sounded like an 808 but a little weaker somehow.

Analogue solutions is a good company, i have their HH88 808 hihat module which is great and authentic, the SD99 909 snare which i love, its much more flexible than my real TR909 snare, and i have the BD99 909 kick module, which only has one fault in my opinion, and thats the attack on it sounds a bit buzzy compaired to the real 909 kick.

i'm considering selling the BD99, for £50 if anyone is interested, i think they cost £89 +VAT new.
