Right now I'm much much more interested in working deeply with synthesis... i can get better sound from working the tools i have properly. You can get 80-95% of where you want to be, for live and recorded music with vcas and filters. And for me it's so much more rewarding to use a 'creative' filter that becomes part of the music.

But yeah, I'm not disagreeing really... probably some time in the future i'll do a touch of eq-ing whilst writing/playing.

Waves were pretty much the first 3rd party pluggs and IMO are still in the lead in terms of quality of sound and accuracy of response etc. The programming is also very clever and so CPU efficient. They are ridiculously expensive though, but that is changing!!!! Someonelikeyou
