You know why that is? Its because they want to set a precedence in court with a ruling in their favor. Then once a ruling has been made on a untested subject it becomes case law, setting up subsequent law suites to be ruled in their favor.
If book binding were a new development today used book stores, libraries and friends sharing books would be contested in court too. Personally I refuse to purchase any music distributed from any major company. Its not just talk, I honestly never do.
