Guys,
I'm a Reason 5 user. And I'm still learning about producing music. One of those aspects is of course EQing and mixing. For analysis of my elements in the frequency spectrum is need an analyser. I've been reading about the Vocoder use but some say that it's not sufficient.
I've not rewired anything. But maybe I have to do that in order to host an frequency analysis VST? But I was looking for an option where I don't have to ReWire.
I've read about Har-Bal.

Frequency Analysis for Reason 5
dunno... you will need something to "intercept" the signal from reason to the soundcard. honestly, the rewiring would be a good method for that.
http://www.trueaudio.com/ we used this to tune my synths last week... but i'm not sure if it will do what you want as far as reading the signal from the soundcard. Maybe also try googling "stand Alone Frequency analyzer PC"
if you go the vst route, try Voxengo Span.
if you have an RME soundcard they have digiCheck which does this on the hardware level.

well, if you want to make harmonic sounding tune you cant just use your ears. you gotta use a spectrum analyser, which reason doesnt have.
i bumped into this as i was searching for the same thing (frequency analysis in reason) - http://reasonpatchaday.blogspot.com/200 ... lysis.html
its not exactly the way to get the frequency of any of the sounds you use but it's still something
PS. i really like how the mclass reason eq sounds.
it might not be quite accurate but it has a nice "analogue" sound, which im afraid not many vst eqs have : )

I used to record into Wavelab from Reason but I can't remember how I set my card up as I don't have it anymore ( might have been my mixer too ). I could analyze that stream live but if you cant, there's always the offline method of rendering an then analyzing in an audio editor with an analyzer of your choice. Long winded but other than rewire, I dunno.

here's a better Spectrum Analyzer patch that I found on reason101.net. it was put together by Wendy Dunham and Giles Reaves.
enjoy!
