i wonder if they have this stuff for the s950... reading some other forums and they are saying there are issues with wanting to do this stuff. got to keep looking into it... would love to have my stuff run on this vintage gear.
I'm wondering what the comparison of the sound to something like the mpc1000. or if those new units are just crap too clean or whatever.

be careful with modern hacks as they seem to do weird things to ur old units...
from what ive read, mainly from rohan of vailixi.., pcs tend to leave a ''mark'' on drives and partitions.. they behaves particularly bad with the older akai and can wreck them seriously when routed to them thru scsi adapters and the like..
those machines have limitations, u have to live with it.
there are still pretty cool innovations to integrate them to modern studios and the experimentation is being pushed further... but yeah, limitations.
