i recently bouhgt an sh-101, i'm having a lot of fun with it and i'm very happy about the sound.
the guy who sold me is a stoner who kept it somwhere for 6 year collecting dust and it even "marked a preset"on it with a black permanent marker

then he eventually ran out of money and decided to sell it -but not being smart enough to have a look at the market value it offered it at a ridicolous price so i could take it home for a steal, not even saying how much because it's almost a shame.
fortunately it doesn't have any hiss or hum, no scratchy sliders or pots,
today i decided to open up the 101 and clean it inside out, it's not a very complicated task, just had to take some pictures to be sure to be able to put everything back in place.
as i opened it i was shocked about how much crap there was inside.. all the sliders and rotary controls where submerged by a layer of dust, bleah. the boards where swimming in crap. the plastic panel was also dirty, a part the black marker signs (how can one be so idiot) had spots all over the place and in the depressions around the sliders there was aged dust... so i took a sponge and soap and took the panel back to it's original glory. i gently hoovered the boards and the sliders and now it looks a like a new synth.
i was a bit scared when i turned it up again after the "service" but everything works like before.
