my pc also needs an update but as long as it is running .. i hesitate to spend the money

well finally pulled the trigger. Bought an i7 machine. didn't feel like doing the work so I just spent a bunch of money to get one from a computer store. Anyone have any advice on windows 8 and compatibility with cubase6 and whatnot?
