I don't mind anyone (Shed in particular) selling thousands of copies of a record. I just hate* digital, that is all.soapz wrote:Why? So less people could play his music?breton wrote:I wish he kept them vinyl only.
*'hate' may be too strong a word.

Digital has its positive sides too. Not everyone can afford to pay 10 quid per every new track that comes out these days. Also, there are a lot of older releases that have been rendered impossible to buy on vinyl due to hype and ridiculously high prices, but that exist in digital format. And of course, sometimes you get to come across nice gems that only exist as mp3's (there aren't too many of them, but still). So yeah, digital shouldn't be shunned completely.breton wrote:I don't mind anyone (Shed in particular) selling thousands of copies of a record. I just hate* digital, that is all.soapz wrote:Why? i agree.. except for the "not everyone can afford vinyl" argument..Papa Bear wrote: Digital has its positive sides too. with vinyl you're sometimes paying more but you always get a lot more too (and a lot more people benefit from it)... see if you buy wav, and a release has more than three tracks digital is even more expensive (which is ridiculous if you think about it)..
two wav files of this wax50005 here would cost you € 5,06 ... i paid € 8,79 for the vinyl..
btw i hope we all agree that playing mp3s and buying single tracks instead of whole releases is not the way to go..
