[KY_D13] Segue - Capitalist Hippies

We are proud to present our 13th release of pure relaxed dubiness. This time it's the Canadian Segue who treats us with three tracks of brilliant blissful deepnes. The opening Old growth is a piece of slightly melancholic dub, where discreet melodies interact with rumbling bass lines and a catchy dubwise groove. A perfect track with which to enter Segue's world of moving and vibrating riddims. Second track is all about distance and spaciousness. It starts with rattling dub chords, followed by beautiful organ skank's which drive it all into a hypnotic swing that just keeps building and building. Cumulus pulls it back into slightly darker territory with faraway rhythmic pulses and insistent beats. This is a tight and intense groover which warms things up perfectly for the last track. Hieronymus has surly outdone himself this time with his version of Segue's Old growth dub. This is dark dub-funk of the highest order. Imagine finding an ancient duplate buried under 3 meters of dirt and you might get an idea about what it's all about. What a fantastic way to end what Segue started. Enjoy!

Very excited. Thanks for the new release - its very enjoyable.

Great news that he is from Canada. I am always looking to connect with other musically like-minded Canadians.

Segue is Jordan Sauer. Segue hails from Vancouver, Canada, where he was raised on the violin and fine German cuisine. He is merely 21 years old, but is already filled with an insatiable desire to be surrounded by good music. Segue's music is truly an original concept, although one could point a finger at many influences: Boards of Canada, Deadbeat, the System/Future 3 trio and many, many others. Presently in school, he hopes to perform somewhere sometime in the future. His future plans include to render his university degree completely useless & to live somewhere in Europe.
