Just curious,

anyone here not using software production tools at all?

If so, what are you using for sequencing/sampling/synthesizers?

i`m using an access virus b. it`s a really good virtual analog synthizer.
in future i`m going to get a 909 sampler.

sequencing - nuendo 2.0
sampling - soundforge 6.0
processing - waves 4, psp, ohmboys, tc electronics
vsti - fm7,korg legacy,albino 2, mini moog ...

nowdays i'm more of a sampler boi rather than sit and break my head with synthesis.

btw,medkit ,where did you get that virus plugin,would it be possible to get it?

great knob machine!
and a Yamaha AN1-X, which I only use as a controller (too thin sound)

all the rest is soft-madness...

sorry but that virus is not a plugin. it´s real hardware.

btw there is a Access Virus Indigo Plugin excisting, made by digidesign.
but only for pro tools users.

i see,i must've got you wrong,because i saw somewhere that virus plug.

it's a great machine...one of my colegues has virus b rack module.

Among other hardware, I also use a Virus B desktop (all knobs, no keys), and I'm also really happy with it.
The sound is a bit "rawer" (is that a word?;) ) than the Virus C.

I have some hardware stuff that I haven't touched yet, all very cheap and it still remains a question if I'll ever use them cos I'm totally into software atm:

Korg Poly-800 -> a classic 80's semi-analog polyphonic synth with DCO's and an analog filter. It was really cheap but it can produce nice basslines in monophonic mode. I think this is a detroit machine, people like Derrick May used its strings to make techno. Nice cheap thing for only 100 euro

Roland TR-707 -> I bought this because I thought I needed something to sequence a better drummachine that didn't have a sequencer. I only lately found out that I can work much better with good drum samples. I can probably use some of its sounds though, the clap sample is exactly the same as the 909 clap

Casio VL1 VL-Tone -> A must-have for any minimal producer

This thing is so cheesy and crappy that it's really fun to play with. It comes with some built in rhythms that really hyped this thing. Check Trio's "Da da da". The sound is very bleepy so great for minimal

I'm still not sure how I can fit this stuff into a mainly software based production set-up. The poly and 707 have midi in/out.
