I don't see multideck mixing as the goal in itself. It's a means to give more control to the DJ! While it's true everyone technically can do 4 deck mixes now, I see very few people exploring the musical/artistic possibilities that can be achieved through it.tone-def wrote:it's killed the magic of 4 deck mixing. it's not impressive anymore because everyone can do it.
When I have some magic going on in a certain mix, and I want to extend that magic by letting both tracks go on, I tend to focus on a third track. I don't do this to show off, I don't intend to present this as impressive in and of itself, I do this to maintain/chase that fucking magic! I wish more people would understand this.
