any other worthy?
So did you get a Spectralis 2 in the end? It looks like a really interesting box with enough storage space to store all your favourite samples at ones. Unfortunately most of the on-line demos are really cheesy.

Which is your favourite? The ESX or EMX?

Also anyone here ever used a Yamaha RM1x to run external gear?

RM1X have great sequencer but the sounds are.... :? even tweaked they don't sound good...I sold mine...
Yes, the esx and emx together could be a great alternative but then you turn yourself into an octopus  (I hade the little one as a first setup...ea-1 (X2) er-1 es-1 ....got hand cramps (-)
btw : if I had to choose one between the esx or emx, I'd get the esx...the emx drums sound good and all but they are more for techno then for minimal type sounds...and again you can twek them but I'm more comfortable with sample for my drums !

I have EMX... like tone-def i only use mine in the studio with a DAW.

However, i've seen some absolutely mind blowing live pa's done on just a couple of these. So it can be done.

i have played live with it but i think it's at it's best with other equipment. i want to get a cheap laptop with ableton so i can play some loops alongside the emx. i couldn't think of 2 better things to have on stage.

So what would people recommend as the best live hardware sequencer for controlling external gear?

How have people found the Yamaha RS7000? It looks like it could be a great bit of kit for sample playback and control of other synths.
