When done sparingly it can be ok, I've seen too many DJ's do this on every track and it's annoying.serie wrote:Seconds of silence after a breakdown when it's comming up. Instead of exploding the beat in everyone's face, just give 3 or 4 seconds of silence. Got me a few "WTF NO!" and then some "UAAAAAAA!!!"
Or in another case after a rise I exploded with the windows sound error. Got everyone's attention hahah.
How to confuse - surprise the audience?

when deejaying, with two beatmatched tracks, slow the second track (the one you hear less) with a tap of your finger on the platter, just to get this double beat effect (only a few ms..). Cut the bass or high on the main track for 8 or 16 bars and put the eq's back in +1 while speeding up the other track so they sync in again.
if you wanna see confusing stuff, check out this video of Ark playing. He's f.cking mental, not very jeff millsesque but defo. the Hendrix of decks :

i have two ideas, when you have a hp filter, use this tohold the subby pumping sound just after a break and after like 8 bars ore something put everything in.
second, while mixing, just keep the records not totally synced
and than on major pulse, put it correct, this will create a pumping effect
