quit being a hater cloutier.cloutier wrote:cvs / dirtybird isn't even close to booty / ghettotek. you guys are fcking nuts.
that sh!t is straight up circus electro house.
i disagree and this just shows that you aren't really listening to their music or their sets. So why are you writing a hateful review? Jphlip and Justin were last year just here and dropping all kinds of booty house bombs. Jphilip just rolled through again and was even dropping a bit of juke here.
Jphlips latest track on her soundcloud is pretty booty and ghetto house if you ask me.

Regardless, i think Integrating techhouse and booty house is a good thing... i think its something unique to their sound and can definitely make a party go off. I've always been impressed with the way these guys can make a party pop even in one a town where most people will barely tap their feet to this music.
Also, some of the juke music is some of the sickest music coming out right now... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWfiog1Ure4
Good luck on your booty adventures!

have a listen here:
DJ Slugo - "Wouldnt You Like To Be A Hoe" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIImIZ6EhrE
Justin Martin & Claude VonStroke - “Beat That Bird” http://dirtybirdrecords.com/claude-vons ... -that-bird
similarity????? YES ... the bassline for both is just A BIG ASS PHAT 808 KICK RIGHT ON EVERY FUCKING BEAT!!!!
anyway some of the elements of ghettotech that you might find in a few dirtybird tracks would be the use of:
1. 808 and 909 drums
2. big tom drum sounds (try pitch shifting them) - like at 2min on this track that someone previously posted as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4UERXoVlYQ
3. the phattest 808 kick you can find on the planet - with massive subbass
4. reversed hi hats or claps
5. pitch shifted vocals
dirtybird is quite a bit slower than ghettotech....
the big thing is not necessarily what you use in the song but how it works together to get that - uhhhhh - "shoulder droppin" feel. the way the beat interacts with the bassline - has this funky shuffle feeling rather than a robot feel.
and dont forget to order 10 strippers (of the big booty variety) and pop some cristal up in the studio like we do with our gobs of money!!!!! haha that was a good one.... eric you of all people should know how little money is to be made in this biz.
also, dirtybird is not fidget or electrohouse (i strongly dislike most fidget or electrohouse) - i could see how you might get them confused if you have a really bad ear for music.... or maybe you haven't really listened to our stuff.
our music can definitely be quite silly but to me the "bar 25" sound is more like circus music - and i dont mean that in a negative way.
i hope this helps you make some nice booty shakin beats!

dirtybird is hardly fidget (otherwise it would be on my shitlist for long) but it surely isn't booty either... it's like a minimal meets electro meets tech house melange. Doesn't always work, but I do have some releases of them that really are top notch.
Some electro elements in there definetely: The Martin Brothers for example really have serious electro-influences going on which you can surely hear clearly in tracks like "Dum".
Kudos for them for often taking the piss at all that seriousness in many music these days. It's a label that releases dancefloor bombing fun All I know is, when you throw in Martin Brothers, it's guaranteed stuff to make your floor go nuts. Strippers included. And who does't like naked people shaking it.
