Both. But generally when Im in jam mode I use it standalone. Then I will quite often render the bits I like as stems or loops and do a mix in ableton.nohero wrote:Do you use it in your DAW or mostly on its own?TechnoMusic wrote:Maschine hands down best bit of kit I've ever owned.

hardware : Andromeda or H8000fw
My Andromeda has almost all features I could dream of (and that are still affordable and humanly possible) on an analog synth.
I never get bored with it, and it never fails to amaze me.
Very inspiring synth, very deep sound design-wise.
I'll never regret getting one.
My Eventide is well, umm, a very expensive toy that is pure audio-orgasms. You can make anything you run through it sound great if you want. Only got it recently, so I'm still getting used to it, but it's love on first sight, absolutely ! (how could it not be ?).
software : Omnisphere or Kontakt.
Omni has huge sound design options as well, and is pretty much the best sounding softsynth on the market.
Kontakt cause it has (again) huge sound design options. Modulation madness if you need it.
With each new version it got more and more complex, so it definitely takes a while to get your head around it, but once you're off, it's a blast.
Plus you can easily ignore all the features you don't need.
(or just use Simpler if it's for a very straightforward sampling job)
