Isnt't that something to do with the sampling in time? As I understood it, you can sample now in Reason 5 but there's a limit to the actual sampling time, 30sec??????

Importing audio has always been in Reason, you just do it via the samplers and I don't think there's an actual limit to the size/duration of the file. Obviously though, as it doesn't support audio tracks, you'd have to retrigger a long file from a Midi note on command. If the file was say 32 bars long and you were working on a section at bar 16 with that bar cycling over, the audio file isn't going to be heard.

I still can't get my head around why they never added that feature, to me, adding a sampling feature without actually supporting audio tracks is kinda dumb.

it's only 30 seconds record time with the live sampling.

i don't sample anything that long. 30 seconds is like 16 bars at 120bpm.

What about if you're recording in a synth though? When I record I just record the entire track length in audio then go back and edit after.

it's not designed to do that, they have record for that kind of stuff or you could use rewire. live sampling is for recording drum hits that you can re-trigger with midi, chords and notes that you can then pitch up and down and resampling sounds from within reason.
