i know youtube isn't that good for synth demos but you can tell this is well worth £450. look at the features and interface!tone-def wrote:apart from modular i'd go for a spectral audio neptune II.

I think Mathew Jonson got 2-3 in his studio to get them in seriessteevio wrote:i suppose steve bug isnt the first person who springs to mind when i think 101. (i can think of some nice chicago house tunes)::BLM:: wrote:a friend has one im going to see if i can borrow it.
steve bug used it on loads of his music and i always hated his sound, so its something that never interested me.

it was such a popular synth, that thats why its emulated so much in software / virtual analogues etc.
if you are borrowing one make sure you borrow a midi-CV converter or you wont be able to do much with it.

no one said you should get an sh-101. it was only a suggestion.::BLM:: wrote:thing is for me if i go for a newer brand i can try before i buy or at least send back if i dont like. if i go for an sh101 i have no idea how they sound, and i cant try them. all i think about when i think of the 101 is a gritty sound like steve bug. no idea why i think this, but i do.
i want something that can create nice round tones... sine waves, triangle or square ideally as thats what i tend to use the most.
i not that thrilled about vintage either.
you mentioned the mono lancent yourself and theres also dark energy.
both are in production and you should be able to test them before you buy.
very nice, hydrogen wrote:This guy looks interesting...
