drooooool. only had their ipa, pale, and levitation, love their beer. definitely looking to make the trek to one of their grand monster tapping things though one of these days.
Stone is quality, quality beer. Not sure if you can find it in St. Louis, but my favorite from Stone is the Oak Aged Arrogant Bastard Ale. It's pretty pricey (but aren't all Stone beers pricey?), as it sells for $16 a six-pack, but it's a quality beer for sure.
Ah yeah, Oaked AB is a good one!

They are not too far away so I go there every once in a while. My favorite beer they make is called "Cali-Belgique" which is their IPA recipe with a belgian yeast added instead of the dry California style house yeast. It makes quite a unique beer.

Also their 08.08.08 Vertical Epic Ale is an amazing beer.

Some of the best ones..

Nynäshamns Ångbryggerier http://www.nyab.se
Gottlands Bryggeri http://www.gotlandsbryggeri.se
Oppigårds Bryggeri http://www.oppigards.com
Sigtuna Brygghus Sigtuna Brygghus http://www.sigtunabrygghus.se
Gamla Slottskällans Bryggeri http://slottskallan.se/
Jämtlands Bryggeri http://www.jamtlandsbryggeri.se/
Thank you so much! Links included are great as well. Do you have any favorites? Is there a particular style that Swedish brewers are leaning towards these days (i.e IPAs, Saison, etc)?
Nynäshamn has been the leading micro brewery for some years but i think Oppigårds is realy getting in there with some great stuff. And i forgott Nils Oscar, they also make some great lagers and ales.

We have a strong tradition of tastfull and sweet christmas beers here in Sweden, and the last years the trend of fresh summer IPAs has also been strong. This summer i had alot of Oppigårds Summer Twist.
If you see to the breweries it seems like the big ones is getting bigger, while there is a bunch of smaller micro breweries that is going their own way and making beer just like they want it themself. I love that!

The big companys are Spendrups, Åbro and Pripps.

*applause well deserved* :)

Although the Westvleteren, cliché as it may be, still rocks everything else. Hard to get (they don't sell it in stores) but lucky enough, they brew the stuff not far from where I live so with a bit of luck we (= me and my dad) manage to get a crate every now and then. It's worth all the hassle.

I heard that the abbey that produces is in bad need of money to renovate the roof or whatever, so next year they would do a one-off run with a local supermarket for a limited amount... think it'll be carnage in those stores :D

Ah yeah, it goes without saying these beers are amazing.

Last year a friend of mine snuck 3 bottles of some abbey ale back to me that is only sold locally. I never caught the name, but it was the best beer I ever had. Is the Westvleteren bottled in unmarked bottles other than a sticker which says 6, 8, or 10?

yep, unmarked indeed, except for the "cork" that says where it's from.
