Very nice tutorial indeed, I've figured pretty much how it is done.

To keep discussion, do you think dubchords can be made with any waveforms?

My point is this: I was looking on some dubby chords tutorial on youtube, and this guy was using many different waveforms instead of sq/saw (which means square or saw or something in between I think) as was said in here. I tried to use saw or square in Analog in Ableton and it was pretty cool, but I didn't had a chance to try something else than square/saw/sine/noise, as there are not any other waveforms in Analog :-)

Yeah, and one little discovery. While layering some fxs on top of each other on some percussive field recorded sounds (randoms click and clacks), I've dropped this Ableton native effect called "Resonators" on the end of FX chain and suddenly it started sound very similar to dubby chords. I tried different settings and it was surprisingly nice. I have to say I've used Resonators once or twice while I was discovering Ableton.

You can create dubchords using any kind of sound source. It's all about how you use this source and the fx you put ontop.

White/pink noise + resonator is a good start indeed, but you have to be careful with this fx because it is usually a very noticeable trick. it REALLY sounds like Live's resonator :)

By the way, my friend K.Fog released a 10 minutes "dub-tech tutorial" (speechless though haha) on Youtube using only Reason and its vocoder :

That was a great wee tutorial.

I'm trying to build a reaktor ensemble that can handle sequencing and generating dub tech stabs... Getting there - but i really dont understand rektor too well:(

Just a reminder for my "Rotational" EP:
"Purchase the whole album and get a free bonus package containing all the loops/samples used in the tracks (81Mb, 24/44.1 quality)+ Production Notes.pdf documenting my studio workflow and production methods - *** IMPORTANT: THE BONUS MATERIAL IS >NOT< INCLUDED WITH THE TRACKS DOWNLOAD. I'LL PERSONALLY CONTACT YOU WITHIN A FEW HOURS FROM RECEIVING THE PAYMENT WITH ALL THE NECESSARY DETAILS."

The document covers some of the methods I use for creating those dubby chords you hear in the tracks.

Nice mellow chords mate. I also like the housey bassline, both fits very well together.
