you should never need to use EQ or compression with a good kick.

ive always used analogue kicks and ive never had to use EQ or comp.

Thats exactly how i do it these days. Ive used in in every tune since i got it, very nice piece of kit.

I have noticed on mine that the value changes without me touching it. Does this happen to anyone else?

It sometimes happens with my 999. The encoders they use aren't of that high quality. Yours ain't broken, that's just the way Jomox is.

Happens to me when setting values with the analog encoder, sometimes its set between two values, jumping back and forth - is that what you mean?

its because that encoder is not analogue !

thats why i was asking all those questions about it earlier.

I can hear the changes when it goes between values. You can stop it though, you have to just use the bottom knob and be exact with the placement. It seems to get stuck between two values, you just have to adjust it slightly.
