absolutely agreed.

live stands for 'self-created' as far as i believe, so no tracks (pieces, whole tracks, whatever) shouldn´t be in your liveset if you wanna call it that way. i don´t really know what you mean by prearranging a live set. like practicing it before playing? i don´t know, i guess everybody does that...
it is true that maybe some loops that sound like something 'familiar' would give the audience something to spice up the live you´re performing, i don´t really see a problem in including little pieces of other people´s works, but just like a cherry on top of a cake, to add a little of something, if the technique is abused it stops being a liveset and it becomes a really hard to build up dj set.

no.
prearranged is like if u have your whole set - tracks/loops/whatever in the arrange view prearranged
everything there - sequenced - just push play and walk away.

another endless thread, like the vinyl/digital sht...
i think that ableton live sets using tracks of the performer, it's not a problem only when he uses it to get more organized in matter of a couple of minutes as he works on the liveset itself.
gives you more flexibility i guess, using pure tracks of his own sucks, and don't even say anything bout those who throw tracks of some other producers with ableton. lame.

i consider a liveset being a liveset when the tracks are created during the performance. it's obvious that these are your own tracks...

when you use whole tracks from someone else, you're not doing a liveset imho but a dj set. and yes you can do a dj set in ableton.
