seems like apples in oranges in comparing the two.
Kat, they've been making the Drumkat for decades, can't go wrong with their products, it will last forever, but it's a steep price if you ask me.

YOu can do what I did and start off with an Alesis controlpad (8 pads) for about a little over $200

- matter of fact, I hardly use my Controlpad and I'd consider selling it (if you're in the US)
