only beatport and other shops are making serious moneys at mp3 bussines.
1.99$ per download
50% - beatport
50% label -> 99c for label
- 20% distro = 80c for label
80c - > 50% label + 50% producer
40c is for producer/musician [track price is 2USD]

The deal is never 50/50% between beatport and label, AND there doesn't have to be a distro between label and beatport either..

You are more or less right in this, except that because of the crisis, clubs pay WAY less than they used to, plus it's only the bigger guys who actually really get's enough gigs/money to be able to make something that could be enough for a living..lcaise wrote:imo if you are a producer and you want to make money, you should get some bookings at clubs and don't expect big moneys from tracks released @ bp/juno/djdownload etc ..

You would be very surprised to know how little it takes to get to the top 10 of the genres...Themis wrote:yeah i want to know some statistics about how often tracks get downloaded on Beatport on a half decent label ...
but everyone makes a secret out of it ..
so i have to think, they all earn more than enough ..
