The Korg MS20FX plugin is really good for getting things sounding nice and raw, somewhat similar results to the otomachines Marc posted above but lots more control. It basically allows you to use the MS20 controls to manipulate audio from another source. Just using the filters on the MS20 could help you find what your looking for. Unfortunatly I can't find any good videos that demonstrate it being used, only vids that demonstrate the synth. But you can check out the software here
