The biggest Netlabel tunes on a mix

For quite a while now we've been trying to watch the Netlabel releases and we find it difficult to be satisfied.

Here is the DIRECT DOWNLOAD LINK. All BitTorrent users might want to use the TORRENT DOWNLOAD instead.

Firstly, it seems that there's so much being released right this moment and has been already - such an amount of releases makes it hard to keep an overview. There are directories already like the Netlabel Catalogue, which lists many releases. However, it doesn't really give us an idea of where a "good" Netlabel release can be found, and in which context we could make use of it.

Secondly, after having listened to many releases of the past years, it seems hard to find high quality productions with appealing elements of a specific kind, such as: club suitability, crunchy well produced beats, etc.

Thirdly, we feel like we have listened to many already worn-out elements of successful commercial music that have found their way back to Netlabels and don't really represent any innovative spirit.

We want to find the real gems and share them with you. For that reason we have compiled what we consider as great Netlabel tunes for you into a mix. Please see the tracklist below, visit the Netlabel websites and download the tracks if you like them.

We think it is in the interest of the Netlabels and ambitious DJs everywhere to start a thread that provides the BEST netlabels along with useful information. And that is what we want to do here.

To make sure that this is beneficial for contributors and passive readers alike, please follow a couple of simple rules:

1. Only Netlabel tunes with Common Licence or unreleased ("legally unstressed") tracks should be found here, no copyright infringements!
2. DO NOT post your own tracks (this goes out to all Netlabel owners and producers), unless you're sure it is a MASSIVELY BIG TUNE. Rather, post tunes of others.
3. Please post only direct links to the according download, no detours. Please post a link to the website of the Netlabel along and provide the reader with plenty of information about the track, such as: Genre + why you think the tune is worth mentioning here.

Thank your for contributing to this thread, be it actively by posting or passively by making use of the tracks.

for someone like myself who hasn't been following the netlabel scene lately, this should be worth a listen. however, considering all the releases available it makes you wonder why the mix is limited to only 14 tracks. are these only from 2006? i also felt the title sounds a bit pretentious and even though you have some info on the basis for your selection process, i found the descriptions quite vague; does best = biggest? what is your definition of "quality"? etc.

that said, i'm now downloading.

thanks!

well, we have each our own definition of quality. don't worry ftc, netlabels have released so much great stuffs in 2005 (even before for the precursor) and still do it in 2006.

anyway, strange speech, half of the track in this set were released in 2005 ! :?:

the goal of this topic is certainly to promote netlabel scene, and thanks for that, but i don't agree with all that is said

I have heard some stuff by V.Rotz and it is top notch. Not sure about the rest - I'll have to listen and find out.

Hi guys,

Thanks for paying attention to this thread!

14 tracks is good for a mix - if I should have put in all the Netlabel tunes that I like, the mix would have probably had 30 tracks or a couple more - but not too many, as argued above. The tracks in there are released from 2004 - 2006 and are just a subjective selection of "big" tunes. The term "big" is subjective too - basically tracks that we like. If you don`t agree, that`s cool with us. We would be happy if you guys could post your fav Netlabel tunes as well, so that everyboy else reading this thread could listen & use them.

V.Rotz is wicked, loving it. But especially check out Pascal Vert - he could be the new Nathan Fake.
