American techno producer Stewart Walker grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and has lived in
various places throughout the U.S. In 1999, he received critical acclaim for his release
"Stabiles" released by Force Inc. Music Works of Germany, bringing him to global attention.
Beginning his imprint Persona in 2001, he has provided promotion of his own music as well
as other prominent new artists. He is currently living in Berlin.

Here's my rip of his set @ Shanti Bar in Moscow, back in July:

that was what I was thinking aswell... as I recall, he was doing like me when it came to his live-sets (mpc2000 + sampler and midi controller)

...and wasn't he almost having sort of an campaign against laptop livesets etc? :)

note: just want to mark that I personally don't give rats ass how people perform (laptop or not). nothing bad about Stewart Walker's (really like his stuff) but I never really understood what made the all-hardware thing better when it comes to live-performances. he stated something like that he wants to keep his hands visable and that he's able to keep better contact with the audience this way. and I really don't understand the difference from standing behind a midi controller (+ maybe even a MPD16?) and having a laptop on the side compared to standing behind an mpc with its pads etc...

and hey, I'm using an mpc2000xl as my main sequencer in my studio - so.... ;)

I'm sure he's kicking himself for that one. Its was only a matter of time until he realized that travelling with a ton of gear is a pain in the ass.

Yeah I read an interview with him a few months ago saying he was getting into software now...

Looking forward to giving this set a listen. I love his productions
