That's sad news. I don't know how their business was set up but it's a strange feeling that after vinyl shops also online mp3 stores can't survive selling music.

strange indeed...
However the last comment seems to yield a track to what loads have been complaining about: the lack of quality releases.
Maybe there just was too much music that flooded the market, thus making it impossible to really follow one artist/label and help them fidelise their clientele, and thus retaining any of the parties involved to make a decent living.
I do hope that what's up next is more better music, as it's now being "proved" that even releasing music digitally is taking a risk....
hope this makes sense... :S

"As you may be aware, DJdownload Ltd was placed into administration earlier today. Juno believe that the djdownload.com store is an important part of the electronic music industry and are pleased to announce that we have bought the business and assets from the administrator to allow djdownload.com to continue as a web site.
We believe that with the combined strength of the Juno and DJdownload brands, we can make the electronic music download market more competitive, improve customer choice and increase your sales volumes."

That's true. But what I'm interested in is how there can be a balance to have good sales as downloadsite and still have unknown upcoming labels on board. Or labels that release tracks that are really underground and only a small group of music lovers will buy.patrick bateman wrote:and guys, it's not the first time in history that a digital/mp3 selling shop is going down..
