Anybody else here use Linux?
I'm actually surprised by how good some of the audio apps are on there. I'm giving some of these things a good test run and most of them actually work real damn good. AND THEY'RE FREE!!

I use Linux and Solaris all the time at work, but I stick with windows for music.

i use linux for my internet workstation and openbsd for anything network related. I use neither for audio. i wish that the audio apps that i like were available for linux because gentoo makes it really easy to build a stripped back, specifically purposed machine. much nicer than what window's hardware profiles allow me to do.

if you care to share your opinions of particular products i'd love to read them.Torque wrote:I'm giving some of these things a good test run and most of them actually work real damn good. AND THEY'RE FREE!!
I'm having a hell of a time getting my firewire soundcard to work at my home studio but i have an old laptop that i installed ubuntu on and use audacity and ardour and they seem to do the trick for me. I also have the feeling that a way to use the windows and mac programs inside of it are not far off now.
