Cologne's summer always starts a bit earlier than anywhere else... with the PollerWiesen opening party on the 1st of may. It's a tradition that continues into the new decade, with the PollerWiesen season 2010 about to start. An excellent line up awaits the visitors – including living legends, international stars and local heroes alike, playing at the „Jugendpark“, once again declaring that great location near the Rhine the best open air area in the center of town.
Headlining the PollerWiesen Opening are the one and only Italoboyz, who already tore apart last year's PollerWiesen Boat. It's a great pleasure to have those two crazies back on stage, presenting their witty and driving sound to our audience.
From UK we expect the attendance of several seminal artists, including Swayzak live feat. Richard Davis and Slam. Both crews are well known for their production work since the beginnings of modern club culture, and they have been enchanting crowds ever since.
The performance of Swayzak feat. Richard Davis can be counted among the best electronic music has to offer. Swayzak's records adorn every record lover's collection and their mix compilation „Groovetechnology V1.3“ from 2003 still ranks as genre classic.
Their live vocalist Richard Davis is not an unknown himself: his second album „Safety“ has been a serious hit with the critic and the general public alike, leading to an invitation as lead vocalist on Swayzak's „Loop de bergerie“, touring through Europe, USA and Japan.
Speaking of classics: with the appearance of Slam the PollerWiesen make a personal dream come true. This pioneering crew not only co-founded the famous scottish Soma label, but also gained their laurels with brilliant DJ sets and the production of such fabled tracks as „Positive Education“, „Lifetimes“ and „This World“.
Suitable DJ support comes from two local authorities who know how to rock their floors: Platzhirsch main player Tobias Becker and residential force Marc Lansley, both representing the best Cologne has to offer. They appropriately complete a cast already larger-than-life.
If the weather conditions on the 1st of may don't allow the opening to be carried out, we offer three alternative dates on the 2nd, 13th or 16th of may. In that case the line up would sport the following changes:

Desolat's Loco Dice is a well-known face amidst the PollerWiesen luminaries, having played the finale of last year's second PollerWiesen Boat, where he stirred up a cheering crowd and shaped a great closing to a phenomenal season.
Dutch hero Joris Voorn gathered first international fame with his album „Future History“ and has been releasing splendid production work ever since. In 2005 he performed at Fuse and has kickstarted an impressive career as a DJ, which led him to the world's great clubs.
