L!NK: gratis minimal en techno in de Poema
De Poema in Utrecht is een club die overduidelijk in de spreekwoordelijke lift zit. Met regelmatig terugkerende feesten als Subculture en Magnetronik, en memorabele optredens van internationale artiesten als Ben Sims, Magda, Speedy J, Krause Duo Nr. 2, Marco Carola en Karotte lijkt Poema zich in korte tijd een vaste plek in de florerende Nederlandse technoscène toegeëigend te hebben.
Maar natuurlijk kan er niet elk weekend twee keer met grote, dure namen gegooid worden. Daarom start vrijdag 13 januari het concept L!NK: een waarschijnlijk maandelijks terugkerende avond die GRATIS te bezoeken is. L!NK moet vooral gemakkelijk en gezellig worden. Gewoon feesten, geen poespas.
Qua programmering richt L!NK zich op Nederlands talent, een incidentele buitenlandse verrassing, en wat meer gevestigde namen uit de Nederlandse minimal- en technoscène. Iedere editie krijgt een Nederlands talent de kans zichzelf te bewijzen tijdens zijn of haar ‘two-hours-of-fame’ en zichzelf zo in de kijker te spelen bij publiek en promoters.
Voor deze eerste editie hebben we tijdens het vissen in de Nederlandse kweekvijver vol talent Robert Powlson aan de haak geslagen. Robert heeft met zijn ‘minimale techno met een drive’ menig Amsterdamse after tot diep in de middag draaiende gehouden, en ook op feesten als Pixel en Crèche zijn kunsten met succes vertoond.
Voor Lauhaus, die al een wat dikkere vinger in de techno-pap heeft, was 2005 een uiterst vruchtbaar jaar. Wekelijks wist hij dansvloeren van Hoensbroeck tot Appelscha te overtuigen van zijn minimalistische benadering op de vierkwartsmaat. Zijn feesten Traffic, Mono en Crèche schitterden als altijd. En als kers op de room mocht hij zijn draaiseizoen afsluiten met een daverende deejayset op Innercity. Ook in de studio zat hij niet stil: het resultaat van zijn muzikale monnikenwerk zal in 2006 op vinyl te horen zijn. Lauhaus kent de Nederlandse housescene als zijn eigen broekzak...
Sander Baan is naast resident van L!NK een van de drijvende krachten van het Haagse Phonocult. Deze voormalige resident van Club Harpune in Düsseldorf, waar hij draaide naast grootheden als Steve Bug, Tiefschwarz en Luciano, bewees de afgelopen zomer op het Monocult-feest op het strand van Scheveningen dat hij tot een van de grote talenten van de huidige minimal/techno-scene behoort. Ook in het buitenland is dit niet onopgemerkt gebleven, getuige een aankomende gig in Parijs naast mannen als Matthew Dear, Bruno Pronsato, Heartthrob en Baby Ford.
Alvast een kleine preview voor de volgende editie: vrijdag 10 februari krijgen wij één van de beste live-acts van dit moment op bezoek: Motio & E-contact. Deze Groningers gaven onlangs nog dikke livesets weg op Awakenings en Voltt, en een internationale doorbraak laat waarschijnlijk niet lang op zich wachten. Het geheel wordt ondersteund door Branz, Sander Baan, en jeugdig Haags/Amsterdams talent Tic-tac.

But of course there cannot be performances by famous, expensive artists twice a week. That’s why from Friday January 13th on, a new concept starts at Utrechts only techno-club. L!NK is a FREE night that will take place on a monthly basis.
L!NK focuses on Dutch talent and an incidental interesting name from abroad. Every night a Dutch talent has the chance to prove himself to the crowd and promoters during his or her ‘two-hours-of-fame’.
For this first edition on Friday January 13th we have picked out Robert Powlson to entertain us with the sound he already brought to parties like Pixel and Crèche, and a whole lot of afterhours in Amsterdam.
After Robert, Lauhaus will be spinning the wheels. For Lauhaus, 2005 was an exciting year: he got people from Hoensbroeck to Appelscha dancing like they never danced before, he played at mega-event Innercity, and ofcourse his parties Traffic and Mono were bombing as usual. He was busy producing as well: you can buy the result on vinyl in 2006.
Sander Baan is, besides L!NK resident, one of the powers behind the Phonocult parties and recordlabel from The Hague. He is a former resident of Club Harpune in Düsseldorf, where he played alongside artists like Steve Bug, Tiefschwarz and Luciano. At the Monocult beachparty last summer he proved to be one of the best kept secrets in the Dutch minimal/technoscene. Promoters from abroad noticed this as well: Saturday February 18th he will play in Paris alongside men like Matthew Dear, Bruno Pronsato, Heartthrob and Baby Ford.
A preview for the next edition on February 10th: one of Hollands hottest live-acts of the moment, Motio & E-contact, will pay us a visit. They recently performed killer live-sets at Awakenings and Voltt, and it seems they are now ready for an international breakthrough. They will be supported by Sander Baan, Branz and the young and infamous Tic-tac, a talent from The Hague/Amsterdam.
