Cubase 5

Post by ::BLM:: »

How on earth do I route a midi channel into an audio channel so I can record my hardware synth? In Ableton it's very easy, but in Cubase I can't seem to find any options for routing the midi channel into an audio channel?

you have to route the midi channel into a group channel first and then set the input of an audio track to that group channel.

Create a group channel. Now set the output of your midi channel to this group channel. Now create an audio channel and set the input of this audio channel to the group channel you created.

this can all be done either in the mixer view or the project view.
in the mixer view the input and output settings of tracks are on the top. In the project view they are on the left side of the tracks, in the inspector column.

I must have something set up wrong then, because the group channel is not showing up in the midi output.

It's really confusing all this, and I know Ableton inside out so its hard not to go back to it.
