Slim Phatty

Post by Phase Ghost »

Moog just came out with a rack mount / table top version of the lil phatty.

One thing about this synth I never understood is why in the shite the cutoff and resonance have a shared knob. If any there are any 2 parameters on a filter (or entire synth for that matter) that should have dedicated controls, it's cutoff and resonance.

better price than the lil phatty. i think the shops will sell these for £500, which is a lot cheaper than moogs other rack synth.

little phatty isnt one of Moog's best creations.
way too limited

save up and buy the real thing, the voyager is easily the best analogue synth around, worth every penny, built like a brick shithouse, real performance synth, and will last a you lifetime.
and dont let the fact that its a monosynth fool you into thinking youre not getting much for your loot, its increadibly flexible.

if not, there's better synths than the Little phatty around in that price range.

of course, it lil phatty with no keys.
but for that price you get a very limited monosynth. i think 5 knobs total?
if its moog sound, go for voyager. if its a monosynth, there are far better things than the slim phatty at that price range.

Hey, you seen the new Voyager XL? It's semi-modular apparently, so patchable and has a 61 note keyboard ( I think ) and a ribbon controller. There's a brief desrciption in SOS magazine.
