What's with Paul Johnson?

Post by -ix »

I have never heard him play in NL, I just love his music.
I have some old gems on Dancemania, Cajual and Relief of him.
And I still love "hear the music". For me he's a legend.

I never understood why a man who's been shot accidentally in his shoulder has to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. But ok. I'm no doctor.
Today I saw a video (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id= ... 3755066672) on FB
of 5Mag Presents The Benefit 4Paul Johnson. To cover his medical costs I read.

Can someone please tell me how an artist of his size with a worldwide clubhit (Get down) became depending on charity?
I am serious about this one. Cause at the moment I don't get it.

Just because he has hat a few hits, doesn't mean he became rich on those hits.

Money - easy come - easy go.

But I of course understand your curiosity about it, but as you know many people who earn some money during their career doesn't all end up as rich-living people.

Well, that requires him to show up to the gigs he is booked to :)
I remember him doing 'no-shows' in Copenhagen 4 times over the last 8-10 years.

Never the less, I hope for a quick recovery for him. A great producer.

Bullets ricochet inside the body once they enter. My brother's best friend was shot in the chest and the bullet, once inside, bounced off of a rib and lodged in his spine. He is now paralyzed from the chest down... probably very simliar deal with Paul Johnson.

Guns are so fucking gnarly. The entry wound is never the problem, its the type of bullet and what they do to your insides that matter. The smaller the caliber, the more likely it is to play pinball with your guts. More people get injured for life with 22s and 9mms than with 45s or 357s which either go right through you or blow you to complete bits and then you are dead so no wheelchair.
