Creating a water drop noise?

Post by nohero »

Any tips on how to make or water drop style noise in Ableton Analog (or any synth for that matter) ?

Cheers

it's fun to try and synthesise it imo, and good practice.

Use envelopes to control pitch of a sine wave, and try to automate the envelope times.

Or try a low pass filter which is nearly self resonating, and use the same idea of automating the cutoff... maybe use an lfo.

could also record your mouth doing the water drop sound... you know where you flick your finger on your cheeck and modulate your lips?

tons of youtube videos about this... haha.

take a sine wave. you will want this wave to slide down from about 600 hz to 200 hz, as the pitch lowers you will want the sound to fade out. this should be very short, less than a half a second long. next add delay or reverb to your liking.
