in all fairness i have the exact same sample. i had never heard the original either, so i could have used it and found myself in the same situation.

i think it's a good example of why to avoid using samples from sample libraries/pack without changing them drastically. there's no way to know if the sampler is using legit or legal sources. secondly, both these tracks are hella boring and sound generic, even if KS in 1987 is considered a legend, it's still just boring functional techno/house.

i think KS is being very aggressive about it, and supernova probably had no clue when they made the track. neither side is helping their public image imo.

I must say, if Kevin Saunderson posted this on soundcloud before contacting Supernova to find out if they knew they were using his sample then it says a lot about the ego of the man. 1987 was a bloody long time ago. I reckon that a LOT of people haven't heard the original before. There's no reason why this wasn't a genuine mistake. This seems a very public execution for Supernova who don't really deserve it if it was a genuine mistake. My opinion of Kevin (as a person not an artist) has gone down somewhat.

69 people have put the track on their "favorite"...
2262 people have downloaded the WAV...

Nice exposure!

Failed.

do you think he knows about the 1000's of D&B producers who sampled his track 'just want another chance'?
