I need a synth to accompany my tr-707.

Was looking at this (one that isnt broken) and then getting the midi kit for it although this could be a bit of a pain.. SH-101 is outta my price range and this looks very portable.
Thinking eventually of playing live with a synth and a drum machine.

what do you want to do with it ?
I know you said above "accompany my TR727"
but what I mean is : do you just want bass, or leads as well ?
pads ?
do you want an arpeggiator ?
does it have to be RA (real analog) or would a good VA do ?
do you know your sound design ?
do you play keys at all, or will you just sequence and turn some knobs / move some sliders ?
there are so many synths out there nowadays.
it all depends on what you want to do.
once you pretty much kknow that, the choices are a lot easier.

that's rather oversimplifying it, if you ask me.pafufta816 wrote:i'd buy that thing for sure. anything it lacks you could add with some effect pedals. does it have midi or cv?
of course you can have tons of fun with running a synth through some pedals, but you can't just solve everything by just getting some pedals.
